Instructor James Korosil was born and raised in Manitoba and has dedicated years to training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), investing countless hours each week into learning the sport. He fell deeply in love with the art of jiu-jitsu because it remains one of the most challenging pursuits in his life.
James BJJ journey started in 2004 at the Munduruca Martial Arts club in Winnipeg MB, where he earned his blue belt from Rodrigo Munduruca.
He stepped away from the sport temporarily when life priorities shifted. However he restarted his jiu-jitsu journey in 2020 at The Forge Academy of Self Defense in Oakbank, Manitoba. Where he continues to train under 4th degree black belt Chris Belbas who is an affiliate of the Body of Four team. James is currently working hard to advance to a black belt but currently training as a brown belt.
Outside of the gym, James is deeply passionate about the outdoors, with a specific love for trapping, hunting, and fishing. Now feeling right at home in Dryden, he is excited to share his love for BJJ and bring this rewarding sport to the local community.
